Dee Botchery 2025 Hello, I have an immediate manager who recently took over the postion that supervises me. It was a permotion for him, we used to be on the same level and manage several people but in different units. I had heard nightmare stories about him from people he superivised. It was mainly from women, which I am. One male had an issue with him, but as far as I know everyone else was female.
I am havng the same sort of issues. He's the kind of person that believes he is smarted and harder working than everyone else. So if suggestions are made to him he views that as an afront. If somehting is approached or done in a way different than he would he views it as wrong. He is also obcessive and will fixate on a person to the level of stalking. He sends out emails with the facts stated 'incorrectly', and I'm being kind saying that. If the person who is the subject of the attack, tries to at least get the correct facts out there, so they won't be blamed for something they didn't do, he doubles down and goes sorged earth on them. If they don't try to correct the facts, then he will use the fact that they didn't deny it as proof it is correct and hold on to it to use it against them. He has secretly added himself to the group email list for the unit of people I supervise. He has not done this for any other unit. He has asked me to do things not as part of my job and as part of punishment, like to show up in very early mornings hours at a far remote office and move furniture. It is my understanding that only staff whose job it is to move furniture should do that. And that my doing so may be a violation due to liablity. But I was threatend with disipline if I did not. He has taken most of my management duties and transfered them to a much more junior supervisor, who prior to then had only supervised two people. And now has me doing the job of a postion to which I had been supervisor. The now primary supervisor does not know what he is doing so bascially comes to me for everything. The prior people I used to supervise still come to me as they don't get staisfaction with the new supervisor. My title did not change and I did not take a pay cut but now I'm basically doing two full time jobs.
I take pride in my work and really care about the clients and my coworkers. That plus my personality of wanting to help, makes it difficult for me to just sit back and let thigs fall apart. Plus I think that is part of his plan. That if thngs did fall aprat I would be blamed. He has done this before when the other supervisor didn't follow through with somehting. Some how I got a nasty email from him telling me not to do that agian. He has also told me not to go to long standing meeting with outside governmental agencies. He has instead told the other supervisor to go. The other supervisor told him that he didn't know about the topic and since I have been our representive for a couple of years, that I should be the one going. He still insisted that I not go.
I have gone to HR. I'm not a go to HR as th first option kind of person. I recieved no help. They told me he could monitor his staff, make changes in assignments etc. They did point out that when he wanted me to record hours improperly and I asked them for clarifcation, that they agreed that how I reported things were corrected. I pointed out that that was part of the reason he was retaliating against me. And that nothing in his job description allowed him to send out false information in emails to me as a way of documenting somehting that I did not do. And that while he could monitor his staff etc. He was only doing this kind of monitoring with me and doing so as retaliation. HR ended up telling him I had complained without gving me any kind of a heads up. I found out because he told me not to go to HR anymore and just to keep it between him and I.
I also went to my union to have them inform upper management of what was going on and to see if they knew and approved of it. It turns out they know. He had been giving very inaccurite information about what I was doing, basically just making up bad things about me. They took it as truth without even checking or informing me. And said they found it 'concerning'. So there was no help to be found there. The union rep told me the I didn't have any friend in the administration. Keep in mind I had been working athis company for decades and never received and bad review or disipline.
I have also talked to him directly, several times. I told him it was counter productive the way he was treating me and would not get the best for either of us. I told him was had been very willing to assist him and that I wanted the best for our clients and wanted the employees to be happy at their jobs becsue that would get the best for our clients. His responses ranged from him stating he was suprised how difficult I was to manage or that if I didn't follow his directive I would be disiplined.
I don't want to leave my job as it is a bit of a calling. I'm not revealing the nature of the work for privacy reasons. Also in the area of state I live in, where I work is the only employer that has this kind of work. If I could explain what I do, you would understand why there are not other employer options.
My question is, what do I do now?

Wayne answers Hello there, The first thing that I would do Would go to the highest level of Management that you can locate. it appears to me that you've got no results because you have not talked to true decision makers who have the authority to change what you want changed.

in dealing with a big bureaucracy like you're involved with you have to go to the very top first. and then force Their decision down to the underlings.

The second thing I would suggest Is to Change your attitude about what's happening around you. You could exist in chaos and be completely happy if you start training your mind to think those thoughts.

Choice you would have is just create other things that make your life Happier and leave your job And find something that really stimulates you Make you happy and generates cash you can live. there are always other choices out there. So To summarize

You have three choices One fight the lion from the top, Scan your job and change how you think So it doesn't bother you, and third leave your job And use your creative mind to create a more satisfying fulfilling life. N

Somebody 2025 I heard that you fix things, too. I got a short thin wire down my garbage disposal. I don't dare turn it ON in case it STOPS. Do all disposals have a little re-set button? I can't find mine nor can I find my flashlight. Can you help?

Wayne answers its very easy to fix disposals...just get a long broom handle ,insert it in the top of the disposal. then force the barrel inside to back and forth until it spins feely. then reach in and get the wire out. and try it. you may have to push the reset button on the bottom of the disposal also.
this works every time!!

Where can I have an advisor look at and request copy of my original policy ( WHOLE LIFE) that I paid in full for a year or more and then not realizing the cost and not asking the right questions didn't continue paying so based on a clause I selected it was converted to a TERM LIFE that expires in JUN of 2027, they are charging me 50.00 to get any information or copies of the policy and really moving me around and and now that I wish to cancel and be reimbursed they state in email that I will get 435.00 back if I cancel at this time. Where can I get help. I tried to sign up with a company to figure things out but it is overwhelming. What kind of lawyer do I need (if I need one) to get copy of my policies (old and converted new) and figure out the numbers? I am at a loss now and would like to put funds to grow in a different way. The company is Lafayette and I find it odd the charge for a copy, and for details on the converted TERM POLICY. Many things do not add up, I paid over 7500 in full at the beginning in 2022 approx. Wayne answers hello Fabiola, the best way to fight big ins companies Is to file a small claim in your local court against the insurance companies. Once I get this they will contact it with you and try to negotiate with you And you might be able to get a good deal.

but generally they wait to the very last minute to negotiate with you so it's best if during the beginning of the case you do what is called discovery and you the court will require them to respond to your request For all the information that they have regarding your policies and communications. if they don't provide them they're in contempt of court. so this is a great vehicle for forcing them to show you what they have and also to have a judge adjudicate the fairness of what they're doing with you if they're treating you fairly or not.

There is also an interesting company who will fight for you the Consumer Finance Protection Agency. You can file a claim with them and they'll fight for you to get your money from the guys they'll file a claim against the insurance company and then force the insurance company to respond. sometimes this works sometimes it doesn't. but it's free and you can do it online
